Answers and handoff
Teach the assistant with documents
Which files to upload, what the assistant does with them, and how to find what it could not answer.
On this page
The assistant answers from your documents. If the answer is not in them, it does not guess: it hands the chat to your team.
What to upload
Upload what a front-desk employee would look up: the price list, opening hours, delivery and return policy, insurance partners, aftercare sheets, the list of doctors or staff. Short, current documents work better than long, old ones.
Clarly reads text files (including CSV), PDF, DOCX and XLSX or XLS, up to 10 MB each. A document is used once it has finished processing. If processing fails, delete the file and upload it again.
How answers are built
Clarly splits each document into passages. When a customer writes, it finds the passages that fit the question and answers from them, in the language the customer used. Your team can open the source behind any answer.
Check before you go live
Open the Playground and ask the questions your customers ask. For a factual question, the answer should list the sources it used. No sources for a factual answer is the finding: the document is missing or unclear.
Keep it healthy
- Replace a document when a price or a policy changes. Old and new versions side by side confuse answers.
- Open Insights to see the questions the assistant could not answer. Each is a gap: write it into a document or a product.
- Choose which documents an agent may use if you run more than one.
When the assistant cannot answer, it follows your handoff rules.
